Dream it.

I’m Nickie and I have been taking Photographs since the early 70’s. I have used everything from a shoe box with photo paper taped to the back to large format cameras. Through the years I played with camera’s from the 30’s and the 40’s to my Dad’s pride and joy from the 60’s a Polaroid instant camera. I’ve developed my one film and Black and white photos until I was give my first digital. I use both still as well as the instant film. My son once told me he could put me in a room with only 4 white walls and I would still find something to take a photo of.

Build it.

When I was college I took any and every class they had on photography. I most loved the history and how it was painters that would take a photo then paint over it, just like paint by numbers. Also the teacher told me out of 100 photos only one will be THE PHOTO. So I took my cameras and lots of film and someone to keep an eye on me so I didn’t step into traffic or walk off a cliff trying to find that perfect angle. when my kids where in sports I would be the mom laying at the edge of the wrestling mat or hanging off the edge of the pool durning swim meets. I haven’t stopped since then.

Grow it.

So as time went one I took photos at wedding, graduations Bar Mitzvahs sporting events and portraits. The photos that gave me the most joy where not posed but captured at the moment in time, frozen for all to see. I started working with landscapes or garden art as I liked to call it because you really can’t pose nature. you can position your camera, watch the lighting and set up your camera. Then you wait and wait and wait until you see what your looking for. Every Photographer that looks at the same subject will want to shoot it their own way. Thats what’s so exciting about Photography.
